probably half what i listen to is "pop" music. metallica is the definition of pop.
yay. at any rate, egypt central doesn't impress me any more than 3 doors down, cold, crossfade, etc etc. all the same mediocre radio-friendly pop.

/\ Music snob...I don't care if I hear it on the radio or if its underground, if its good it good. I don't care if they are "sell outs" or not. I hate when people call bands sellouts. If you could make music for money why wouldn't you? Get paid for what you love to do? Makes sence to me.

Yeah, the CD isn't all that great, I pirated most of it.
Nonetheless, love that chorus.

metallica is still considered metal, just older 80's/90's metal. it was heavy for its day
lamb of god is a good starter metal band, thats how i started getting into metal a while back
or if you're feelin really experimental, opeth. (not otep, but they're alright too)

zeppelin, ac/dc, old GnR, etc. got me into metal.

ahhh yes.....metalheads unite!!
Opeth kinda creeps me out. Their music is just strange to me. Otep...well, that little tattoo'd hottie's got some pipes and I'd sure love to bang her against a wall sometime.
If you're lookin to try something different, check out the symphonic side of metal with Nightwish, After Forever and Dream Theatre. All three really kick ass.
