The best game I've ever played. Buy it.

It's my favorite franchise, and the only real reason I bought a PS3, other than GT5.

Seriously buy it. If you haven't played the previous games, play them or at least brush up on the story first. There's a free download from the PS Store called Metal Gear Solid Database which has the details on the on-going plot, characters, and side stories of the entire series. If you go into this game not knowing the story, you won't have nearly as much fun, and most plot twists and details will go straight over your head.

I didn't read anything about the game before I bought it, because I wanted to be impressed. I knew it was going to be good, but I was completely blown away. They outdid themselves on this game. The first ten minutes you're like "yeah this is pretty damn good" but after you get past the second act or so you're just like " " The amount of detail not just in the graphics, but the game play, plot, and every other aspect of the game is downright unbelievable.

If you have a PS3, buy it. If you don't, buy a PS3 and the game. And if you have time, play the first three games. It's worth it.

best game ever!

Hows the online? Yes I love the Metal Gear series, just never played 3... Right now I'm kind of wanting player vs. player content; I'm a junkie, what can I say? All in all CoD gets old online once you realize you've mastered all the guns and start sniping in EVERY map... even Shipment.

Friend at work is actually going to let me borrow it tonight, hope I don't get totally hooked or I won't want to give it back.

the online is so much fun, its just like the normal game. its like everyone is like their own snake lol.

i havent been online too much. i'm waiting for konami to patch in some psn trophies ; )

That seems strange that everyone is the same character.
Give an example of what an online game scenario is like please.
What does everyone (the characters) do?
Can you use team strategies like each carry a specific weapon?
