Got it now. Short story, I like it a lot.
Longer story, I wasn't too thrilled about the whole ww2 thing, but, the graphics and details of the maps are outstanding in multiplayer, (I haven't actually played the game game yet). The online game play is as good or better than COD4. There are of course some adjustments you have to make that are a little frustrating like the guns for the most part are not as good some of the stuff COD4 has, but that is just being realistic. I believe them to be pretty accurate representations of what era weapons would be like. What is nice is you have 10 custom settings instead of 5 and you have 5 custom settings started for you plus the 5 basic that everyone gets. It seems there are at least as many guns and available, maybe more. All are really old school stuff you will not have heard of unless you are a serious gun nut. Overall, the controls are the same, the structure of ranking and challenges and earning upgrades is all very similar to COD4. You can jump right in and play pretty competatively if you were good at COD4. I have had high score a few times already, but I usually finish in the lower third, due to not knowing things like the maps and good hiding places which the guys who have been playing a while know, and will have a huge advantage on the rest of us for a bit until we learn.
I would probably rather the new COD was a sequel to 4, because I like new tech, but, this game is as good or better than 4 despite being retro and any question about Treyarch being as good as Infinityward should be squashed.

Treyarch still fudged this game pretty badly... the infinite use of "invisible walls" is the reason there graphics are good... they may make a tree look flawless but considering there is a big square of invisible wall around the tree it's not that impressive. For example, go to the map "Airfield" and walk around the crashed airplane. You can't get close to the plane because they just box it in with a clear wall rather than doing it right and filling in the detail around the edges. You can use a bayonet lunge to fly on top of the invisible box that surrounds that plane and you can stand in what looks like mid air. That's just one way they cut corners in this game.
headsets are for people who want to actually use tactics rather than randomly run and gun. Headsets are the reason my group of friends will beat you and your party 9 times out of 10.

Was playing the other day and then the game froze. Will not read discs. Got the dreaded 80010514 code. PS3's version of the RROD for the XBOX. Not Good. FFFUCK!
Bitch is outta warranty too. It will cost 150 minimum to send back to Sony in Texas to get fixed.
80010514 is apparently a bad sector on the hard drive after much reading/researching.
This is the 2nd time our PS3 crashed. First time was about 4 months ago when it seemed to have a graphics card fail. No picture or sound. That was fixed free by Sony in "only" a couple of weeks. This is a refurbed unit and it is now out of warranty. It is also the 80 GIG.
Fuck Fuck Fuck!
