So all of you that told me my car was slower than 15.8, were wrong. And my stopwatch bullshit WAS right. lol. I got all of three runs in (in 5 hours), there were all kinds of bikes running. It was atleast an hour between cars getting to run. Buickboy was there to witness it and Video tape it, thats for you rob. I ran a 14.8450 @ 94.60, as my best time. Reaction time +.2104. First run ever on a dragstrip was Reaction time= + .3432, 1/4= 15.0954 @ 92.70. 2nd run Reaction +.4790 1/4= 15.3810 @93.88. the 14.8 Is on Video as well. So believe im faster than stock now? and yes I know im still slow. BTW rob I want my cigarettes.

ps. get pressurecooker to make a few runs in your car. maybe with a driver mod you'd be able to put down more consistent times.

I could still be stock. Why don't you fucking find out whats different, My mechanic hasn't seen shit either. The bet was that I would be faster than stock which I am. I want Newports. Consistent runs? Today was the first time I had ever been down a drag strip.

dude, what was the FIRST thing you said to me? wait, i remember "we should race". I reserve the right to hold this against your ricer ass.
You literally know nothing about your car. I mean, we all have to start somewhere, but you are just inexcusable. and you're right, i do know alot about vw's.I told you exactly what your car was before you even opened your mouth.
"fuck off", really? it doesn't take a genius to look at a turbo and read whether it says "ko3", or "ko4". Einstein shouldn't have to pop his head in and show you how to peel the panel off the window and look at the ecu and read whether or not its been flagged by a tuning company. I don't get it, its not that hard. you shouldn't have to go tug on a mechanics dick to figure out whether your car is stock or not.

Jun 13 2009, 01:20 PM
Congrats on making some passes! Hittin' the track as often as possible is the only real way you'll continue to improve. Learning how to launch, and then crossing your fingers for some good traction takes some serious practice... and/or luck.

You'll have to excuse me if this has already been mentioned, but I noticed you're posting all this R/T stuff. No need, all you should really be concerned about is your 60 ft. This has a direct effect on your 1/4 E/T (as I'm sure you already know). If your 60 ft is truly 2.3XXX then you stand a chance to really lower your 1/4 with some launching practice. Every tenth off of your 60 ft equates to approximately 2 tenths in the 1/4. You might really surprise yourself with a new personal best if you get that launch down.
Hope to see you there again next Friday for Midnight Madness!
Just to put it out there though

a true testament to what kind of power your car is making is your trap speed. For example, my 95 SHO, which was DEFINITELY not designed for a sprint down the 1/4 ran a best of 15.49@97mph at Martin with a 2.6 60ft time. Now, that trap speed indicates that if traction had been available, my car would be deep in the 14s. However, there's a certain black SRT-4 on here who'll testify that it's likely quicker than that....if only martin's launch pad didn't suck so bad...

Hey GTi, saw you today on West main with your numbers still on from Martin. I had to laugh, not because I thought it was stupid... but because I tend to leave mine on until the next car wash too.

Sometimes that may be a week or longer. lol The ride sounded good.
In regards to my above post with the R/T talk, I was trying to edit it back when I originally posted it but it had been closed so I couldn't add any other info. Good to see that it's back up. Here's another slip with a much worse R/T, but a better 60 ft which resulted in a much better 1/4 E/T. Weather pending, I'll be out Friday. Lookin' forward to seeing everyone out there. I'll keep an eye out for you and say what's up if we're anywhere remotely close to each other in the staging lanes.
Good to hear you're heading back! Practice will definitely bring the time down.

I gotta say, I usually go on and on about how much it doesn't matter (R/T) and that you just want to get your launch down, but there is definitely an anxious feeling at the line wanting to edge out the other guy/gal.
