Well I have been a pack a day smoker for the last 5 or so years i finally decided that i should either quit or find some sort of healthier alternative. In attempts to quit, i have failed, not really because i needed a smoke, i just wanted one. And of course I would buy a pack and just start up like i had never quit in the first place. Even only being twentyish years old i am already feeling the effects of smoking, tight lungs, hacking shit up in the morning, etc, etc. Well a couple weeks ago a friend mine came into my shop and was puffing a way on an e cigarette. I thought it was one of the coolest gadgets i've seen in a while so i knew i had to have one.

So i ordered mine, and i got in the mail like a couple days ago, and i love it. I truly does make me not want to smoke regular cigarettes anymore and i am glad of this.

For those who aren't very familiar with what an e cigarette or personal vaporizer is, it is...
1. It basically looks like an ink pen
2. It usually has two to three parts which include a battery/main unit, atomizer, and a cartridge.
3. It uses a solution in the cartridge that has nicotine, and glycerin based flavor additives.
4. You inhale a little different then a cigarette, it's more slowly and long type inhale.
5. When inhaling you get a throat hit, feeling quit similar to a cigarette.
6. When you exhale it is 99% water vapor and 1% flavor additives, and nicotine.
7. The exhale look just like smoke but doesnt have an odor.
8. There is no tobacco, tar, or carcinogens.
9. And most importantly you can "smoke these anywhere, like bars, resturants, the store, or anywhere you desire.

All i know is thing is pretty sweet and i really like it. Yeah it isnt as healthy as just quitting all nicotine all together but at least it is a lot better than actually smoking. You have what we call in the business "oral fixation". It means, you rather enjoy putting things in your mouth. You probably instinctively chewed on Bic pen caps in middleschool / highschool too. What I'm trying to say is, you should probably go s' some d's to take care of that...

That dude in the vid look like he's sucking on a Crayola marker. I'm all for people trying any means necessary to quit smoking, but to me this looks a bit silly. I would be afraid to pull that thing out in a bar because of the ridicule I would receive from my friends. But if it keeps people from lighting up real cigarettes, go for it man

they have ones with different colored tips like blue for example. i doubt people are going to think its a real cigg with a blue flame. i tried it once and liked it.

haha, no sorry dr freud, but i just love smoking, i know it is bad for me, so thats why i want to try something not as bad for me.
By the way reading some of freuds theories on why people do things are pretty insane, and it is amazing when studying physcology a lot of these theories are still in use today.

im seeing that it's about $7.50 to $10.00 for a 5 pack of cartridges... how long does each cartridge last? Is it like smoking a $2 cigarette or is it something that lasts an entire day, two days, or what? Working at a restaurant, this would be good information to be able to shoot around with bar guests.

supposedly one cartridge is the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes. my only beef with it so far, is that when a normal cigarette is done, you know to stop and wait a little while for another. with this there is no stopping until the cartridge (or pack) until it is finished. so for myself, i was only worried about say, smoking or "vaping" as they call it on a long car ride and realize i took in a packs worth of nicotine in an hour. or something similar to that explanation. but pat said that when you use this product, you do feel like you have had enough and you do stop after a bit.

im just worried for myself, cause i like to keep my hands doing something while im driving (other than driving, ya i know i should be paying 100% of my attention on the road but nobody does), and i could see myself getting more addicted to the nicotine because im just puffing away the entire time im driving versus one cig.

other than that, it seems like a great product, and i will be getting one in the future.

oh btw with the oral fixation frued bs, if you take any modern psychology class they basically just bash freud (but still ironically make you learn what he said) because he made his research fit the results that he wanted them to fit to. he wasnt 100% wrong on everything but he definitely didnt get alot of stuff right.

Yeah prices vary, because new shit comes out and some stuff goes on sale so just keep and eye on things. And like andy said each cartridge is aprroximently a pack of cigs or roughly 300ish hits. But since everyone smokes differently, its kinda hard to judge. And for me a cartridge last a day or two, but the whole setup is quite worth it, it has made cut back a lot on regular smokes. If you are looking to get started, my best advice is to by the "PCC" which is the personal charging case. It comes with a pretty cool case, and one battery for your e-cig. The battery actually on the unit last for about a day, then you just screw it into the socket in the case and the case charges it. The case itself will charge the actually cig battery around four times before it needs to be recharged, and then you just plug that into any usb port. It also has led indicatiors in the case to tell you when the e-cig is charging, and charged, and when the case is charging and charged.

a bit of a revival...most of ya'll know i smoke like a damn forest fire. i got a cheap ass starter e-cig yesterday from work, and it's most gnarly. i can't forsee me paying money for another cigarette again.

Has anyone used these in a bar yet? Take any shit for it? Just curious.

I was at a bar on Gull rd a few weekd ago (North Coast I think it's called) and there was some cougar in there smoking one at the bar. None of the bartenders/waitresses/managers said a word to her.

i always do a double-take when i see someone 'smoking' these in class or in the halls at school. especially since the water vapor doesn't look like CIGARETTE smoke lol
